Insect Katta


The Insects genus Amegilla belonging to family Apidae are commonly known as Blue Banded Bee. It is also known as digger bees.

Species - A. zonata Linnaeus

Body medium sized, legs hairy. Blue bands on its abdomen. This is the fast flier, pollinator, fossorial, and solitary soil nesting. It is look like honey bee but its not. Honey bee have black and yellow abdomen.Blue bee is a common species.
Distribution - India ( Gondia - Maharashtra ), Australia, Asia
