Insect Katta

Amata moth are commonly called as Hubners Wasp Moth or Tiger moth / Woolly moth.

Body small black with orange bands across the abdomen. Antennae are black with white on end. Wings black and triangular in shape.This moth mimicry to bees to give protection from the predator.
This moth always attracted to lights at night. The life style of this moth are terrestrial or arboreal.
Length - 22-24 mm
Distribution - India (Gondia Maharashtra ), N. Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore
