Body small green/ greenish colour. Wings are transparent with light brown veins. Legs and antenna are black. It is found on fields, carrion feces etc. This is the first fly may arrive within a few hours after death to lay eggs.It is always used in forensic Lab. work. For detecting postmortem.

Length - 10-14 mm.
