 The insects of the genus Sarcophaga belonging to family Sarcophagidae are commonly called as Common Flesh Fly.

Body large sized with darker stripes as well as black broad longitudinal bands on thorax. Dark and light square dots with check board pattern on abdomen. Antenna black, red compound eyes. Legs raised. The species are ovoviviparous.

Females are larger than males. They are nuisance pests

Distribution - India ( Gondia - Maharashtra ), Canada, Worldwide 

Habitat - Carrion, Animals dung, Decaying material
