Insect Katta


 Family tenebrionidae are commonly called as darkling beetles.

Class -Insecta 

Order -Coleoptera 

Family - Tenebrionidae 

Genus -Cossyphus Fabricius 

Species - C. depressus Fabricius 


Body shape miderately elongate, btownish colour. Elytra dumbell shaped equally flattened. Scutellum present but hidden. Antenna serrated.

Legs - 5 segmented 

Length - 19 mm.

Distribution - India, Nepal, SriLanka
