The beetles of this family is known as Carabidae (ground beetles )

 Body shiny black colour,  not metallic but black polish shine. Head, pronotum and femora are black in colour. Elytra has uniform impressed pattern with crinkle like waves. Hair can be found at the base or apex of the elytra and down the side.

Antennae are red brown with remaining segment black.

Habitat - Green houses, dumps, grass fields 

Length - 10-12 mm.

Distribution - India, United kingdom, can be found around the world
